How To Get The Harvest Sprites Mushroom Salsa Recipe (Harvest Moon 64 Perfect Walkthrough)

How To Get The Harvest Sprites Mushroom Salsa Recipe:   Harvest Sprite Harvest Moon 64    Mushroom Harvest Moon 64

The Harvest Sprites are peculiar little guys with a peculiar little recipe. This recipe is slightly more difficult to get than normal, but not anything you can’t handle I’m sure. The requirements for it are listed below:

  1. You’ll need to have an affection rating of 31 or higher with the Sprites.
  2. You’ll need to have a brown mushroom. These can be found in the fall throughout moon mountain.
  3. This must be the first gift/item you give to the sprites during that day.
  4. You must have spoken to the sprites at least once since starting your game.

Once you have befriended the sprites and you have got yourself a brown mushroom go find the sprites! You can find them from 8am-8pm inside Moon Mountain’s cave or inside the Sprites Cave every single day, with the exception of holidays.

Once you give them the mushroom, they’ll hook you up with their mushroom salsa recipe! Wooooottttttt!!!!!!!

If you want an even more detail regarding the sprites and the many important roles they play in the game, then make sure to check out my Harvest Moon 64 Player’s Guide that I wrote here: Harvest Moon 64 Player’s Guide

How To Return Mrs. Bee’s Hive (Conkers Bad Fur Day 100% Walkthrough)

Returning Mrs. Bee’s Hive:

This is a quick little mission that will be your first opportunity in the game to grab some of that elusive sponduli. So let’s get down to business and figure out how to get back Mrs. Bee’s hive and earn a nice wad of cash.

Meeting Mrs. Bee:

When you first enter Windy (the hub world in Conker’s Bad Fur Day), if you take a right you’ll run into a cutscene with Mrs. Bee. She’ll cry to you about how she has lost her bee hive to, “some nasty wasps” and that due to her husband (who we’ll meet soon enough) not being around, she needs you to help her get the hive back.

Finding The Hive:

Bee Hive Conkers Bad Fur DayIf you were paying attention during the opening cutscene of this game, you’ll already know where the hive is located (or the general area at least). If not, well I’m here for you. Head up the tan pathway, going in the direction the sign states is “Nasty” to reach the gigantic wasps nest. Here you’ll find the Bee Hive. Run Conker into the bee hive and he’ll pick it up. Picking up the hive will cause a cutscene to occur where the,” nasty wasps” will show up and complain that Conker is stealing their, “nice new hive”. After the cutscene ends, run down the hill back to Mrs. Bee. The key to ensuring the waspsdon’t sting you on the way back is to stay on the tan path the whole way. Veering off into the grassy areas will slow Conker down allowing him to get stung by the wasps. Once you make your way with the hive back to Mrs. Bee successfully a cutscene will occur again where Conker will throw Mrs. Bee the hive. Mrs. Bee will then proceed to enter into the hive and transform it into a machine, which she of course uses to kill the wasps. After the wasps get shrekt, Mrs. Bee will fork over $100 cash money! Success!

How To Get Past The Gargoyle And Open Up The Windy Hub World (Conker’s Bad Fur Day 100% Walkthrough)

How To Get Past The Gargoyle And Open Up The Windy Hub World:

This is the first quest in Conker’s Bad Fur Day and it sets the tone for the rest of the game. You’ve got an addict scarecrow, a drunken squirrel and an obese foul mouth gargoyle. I couldn’t think of a better trio to welcome you into this amazing Rareware title.

Defeating Conker’s Hangover:

After Conker awakens from his drunken stupor, to a hangover we’ve all experienced at least once in our life, you’ll need to slowly wobble your way around the fence, through the fence grate and over to Birdy the Scarecrow. Once you make your way to Birdy there will be a cutscene where Birdy explains the context sensitive B buttons that play an enormous part in this game. After the scene ends, head on over to the context sensitive B button outside the fence and press B on it. Conker will pop a couple alka-seltzers into a glass of water and his hangover will be cured!!

Getting The Frying Pan:

Frying Pan Door Lever Conkers Bad Fur DayNow that you’re hang over free, wade through the water to that little patch of land near the waterfall. Once you get there Conker will remember he has a special high jump and tail spin that you can use to get to the ledge above. Jump all the way up the side of the ledge using the small cliffs protruding from it until you get up to the bridge with the gargoyle. Once you get to the bridge turn around so you can jump up and grab the lever behind you. After you pull the lever a door that you passed on the way up the cliff will open. Proceed back down the mountain side and enter into the door. Once you enter the door, it will lock behind you and the key to open it will be bouncing around to escape your clutches. Luckily Conker remembers, after trying to catch the key for several seconds, that he has a frying pan on him. Use that frying pan to knock out the key. After knocking it out, pick it up and proceed to unlock the door in front of you.

Defeating The Gargoyle:

Gargoyle Conkers Bad Fur DayMake your way back up the mountain side to the gargoyle’s bridge. When you try to cross the bridge the gargoyle will deny you stating that you can’t cross the bridge because, “he’s only just gotten comfy”. After the cutscene is over, run up to him and use the B button to smack him with your new frying pan. After hitting him another cutscene will occur where the gargoyle loses his balance, falls off the cliff and due to his pro level obesity game causes a rockslide to occur, which of course blocks Conker’s only exit from the area.

Blowing Up The Rock And Unlocking The Windy Hub World:

Boulder Conkers Bad Fur DayJump on top of the boulder that is blocking Conker’s exit from the area and jump over to a ledge on the right. When you successfully make it to the ledge you will find a context sensitive button on it. Press B on the context sensitive button and Conker will pull out some dynamite that will blow that boulder away. Now that the rock is gone, jump off the ledge and exit this area!

How To Get The Mayor’s (Thomas’s) Fried Potatoes And Bacon Recipe (Harvest Moon 64 Perfect Walkthrough)

How to get Mayor Thomas’s Fried Potatoes And Bacon Recipe:  Mayor Thomas Harvest Moon 64   Potato

The Mayor’s recipe is a simple one to get, but let’s go over the requirements:

  1. You’ll need a fully grown potato plant (Takes 6 days to grow and is grown during Spring unless you have a green house)

  3. You must have spoken to Thomas at least once since starting your game (the initial cutscene to open the game does not count!).

On Sunday’s you will find him inside the church from 9am-3pm and on Saturdays you will either find him near the Library or Rick’s Tool Shop between 8am and 5pm. How To Defeat The Bull And Get The Ball Of Poo (Conker’s Bad Fur Day 100% Walkthrough)

How To Defeat The Bull And Get The Ball Of Poo:

Ball Of Poo Conkers Bad Fur DayDefeating the bull and unlocking the ball of poo is key to unlocking several worlds in Conker’s Bad Fur Day so this is easily one of the most important tasks you’ll run into in this game. It’s also not a super intuitive mission either like many Conker’s Bad Fur Day missions.

Entering The Pooey World:

Panther King Scene Conkers Bad Fur DayUp near the entrance to the Barn Boys world is an alternative path to a pooey mess of a place. When you enter this area you’ll notice a shack directly in front of you. Enter into that shack and you’ll be greeted by a cutscene featuring the Panther King and Professor Von Kripplespac. During the scene they’ll come to the conclusion that the only solution to The Panther King’s table issue is to place a red squirrel where the now missing table leg once was… not a great solution in my opinion, but we’ll have to trust the professor on this one I guess. After that cutscene is over you’ll move into another cutscene with a dung beetle who offers you a way to get some poo.

Traversing The Poo Sewer:

Poo Sewers Conkers Bad Fur DayAfter the cutscenes end, go to the trap door in the right corner of the dung beetles hut and press the B button to turn into the anchor and break open the doors. You’ll fall into the sewers below where you’ll have to traverse the ropes to the open door in the top left corner of the room. When you reach the door, go through it and you’ll be greeted by the one and only bull.

Turning On The Prune Juice:

Prune Juice Faucet Conkers Bad Fur DayAfter exiting the sewers you will run into a cutscene with the bull. It turns out he hates anything that is red and wellllll… Conker is a red squirrel sooooo… Anyway, take an immediate left and head up the rooftops, make sure to avoid the rolling balls of poo coming down them, to get to the giant faucet. Once on top of the faucet spin the faucet by running in a circle clockwise on it. Eventually you’ll open the faucet and be greeted with another cutscene, showing you that the prune juice is now flowing to the trough below and that a target is now protruding from the wall.

The Battle With The Bull:

Cow Pooping Conkers Bad Fur DayNow you’ve gotta know what to do with that huge protruding target right??? No?? Really?? Well I suppose you’re in the right place then. If you haven’t already, jump down off the roof of the building and back into the grassy area with the bull. Use Conker to lure the bull into that giant target. When the bull successfully hits the target you’ll view yet another scene, this time a sassy female cow will be released from its pin and go to graze on some grass. A large target will also pop up from the ground. You will now need to lure the bull into that large target, doing so will get the bull stuck allowing for Conker to hop on his back and take him for a ride. When you’ve gotten on the back of the bull use the B button to charge into the cow grazing on grass. Hitting the cow will trigger yet another scene where the cow will run up to the trough full of prune juice and begin drinking it. After slammin down some prune her butt hole will be burnin and she’ll run over to the grate in the center of the field and start throwin down some poo into the sewers below. After that cutscene ends, use the bull to run into the cow one more time. This time the bull will kill the cow, sending her flying into a ton of pieces across the yard. You will need to repeat this process two more times. Lure the bull to hit the giant protruding target (releasing the next cow), lure the bull to hit the bigger wall target so you can jump on its back, use the bull to ram into the cow (you will have to hit the second cow twice before she runs for the prune juice and the third cow three times), wait for the cow to drink the prune juice and run to the grate and finally run into the cow one more time with the bull to kill it. After the third cow is dead, the bull will accidentally break open that sewer grate the cows were dumpin thick streams into and fall into the sewers below and drown.

Gettin Some Well Earned Cash And That Elusive Ball Of Poo:

Conkers Bad Fur Day Bull CashJump into the sewer where the bull just fell down into. The sewers will now be full of the poo the cows produced and you’ll be able to wade through it. Jump through the hole in the wall and head over to the context sensitive B Button in the nook in the wall in the adjacent room. When you press B on the button, Conker will read a manual that will give him confidence, which in turn allows him to swim. After gaining your new swimming ability, press B to submerge yourself in the watery poo and make your way back to the entrance you originally came from when traversing the ropes. Once you make it near the entrance you will be able to emerge from the poo to grab a the wad of cash you probably noticed hollering at you at the very start of this mission. Grab that bad boy and then re-submerge into the poo. Proceed forward through it and then swim up to get back into the Dung Beetles cabin. Exit the cabin and the beetle will greet you with a giant ball of poo.

How to get Ann’s Mashed Potatoes Recipe:  Ann   Potato

This is a pretty simple recipe to get, but let’s go over the requirements:

How The Hidden Happiness Mechanic Works In Harvest Moon 64

How The Hidden Happiness Mechanic Works In Harvest Moon 64:

For over a decade post release, this mechanic was not known to exist, but it happens to be one of the most important mechanics in the game. Jack’s (your player’s default name) happiness is partially responsible for whether or not you get the Party Picture at the end of the game. You must have a happiness value of 250 or higher by the end Summer 1st Year 3 to potentially qualify for the picture. At the beginning of the game you start with zero happiness and your happiness maxes out at 255.

How It Works:

There are a multitude of things that can affect the happiness meter. Below are the most common things that effect it.

  1. Using the restroom increases happiness once a day by 2 points.
  2. Scaring the birds in front of your house or by your pond increases your happiness by 1 point per day.
  3. Catching a fish increases your happiness by 1 point per fish caught.
  4. Dropping anything edible will result in a decrease in 1 happiness point.
  5. Scenes with villagers and your decisions made in those scenes result in happiness gains or decreases.
  6. Animal deaths result in massive happiness decreases.
  7. Winning some festivals increases happiness.

If you want a more detailed breakdown on everything that effects your happiness meter then make sure to check out my 336 page Harvest Moon 64 Player’s Guide that I wrote here: Harvest Moon 64 Player’s Guide

How To Restore The Vineyard (Harvest Moon 64 Perfect Walkthrough)

How To Restore The Vineyard:    Grape Spirit   Kiefu Fairy

Restoring the vineyard in Harvest Moon 64 is easily the most complicated/difficult thing to do in the game. The requirements to do it are very vague and the characters involved in the actual restoration are ones that may not seem exceedingly important during a first run through the game. So it’s a good thing you’re reading this post! Below you’ll find the requirements for the Vineyard’s revival.

Step 1 – Befriending Duke (The Bartender) To Get The Heavenly Wine:   Duke The Bartender

Duke is the bartender in Harvest Moon 64. You can find him every night (aside from Sundays) from 6pm-12am behind the bar. You will need to get an affection of 40 with Duke to acquire some Heavenly Wine that your grandfather left for you. This wine was originally created by Karen’s grandmother and is your first step in the long path to restoring the vineyard. This must be completed within the first year or the event where Duke gives you the wine will never trigger!!!!

Step2 – Befriending The Harvest Sprites:  Harvest Sprite

After receiving the wine from Duke you’ll need to befriend the Harvest Sprites. You will need to have an affection of 50 or higher with Sprites. When you do, they will notice that you have the heavenly wine and suggest you go speak to the Harvest Goddess about the wine (you must speak to them twice on the same day they mention the heavenly wine to trigger the Harvest Goddess suggestion).

Step 3 – Speaking With The Harvest Goddess   Harvest Goddess

NOTE: Doing this step will end your day. Make sure to get all necessary tasks done for the day prior to doing it.

Once the Harvest Sprites have suggested you speak with the Harvest Goddess you will need to get an offering (an offering can be an egg or any crop you’ve grown on your farm) and head over to the Harvest Goddess pond on Moon Mountain to speak with her. Throw your offering into the Harvest Goddess pond and out will come the Goddess like normal. However, this time the only thing you can wish for is “Grape Spirit”.  Wishing for the “Grape Spirit” will take you into a cut scene at the Vineyard where you and the Goddess will speak to the tree in the back right corner of the vineyard and ask it to awaken from its sleep.

Step 4 – Befriending Karen (Optional)   Karen

NOTE: You cannot be married or you can’t trigger this steps event (either way the vineyard will be restored though)

This is an optional step, but one you REALLY REALLY DO NOT WANT TO MISS OUT ON!!! This step is necessary to get Karen’s Picture (Dance Of The Kiefu Fairies). You will need to get Karen’s affection to 200 or higher prior to Fall 7th. If you can do that, she will come see you on your farm the evening of Fall 7th between the hours of 6pm-12am and ask you to come with her to see the Vineyard because it has been restored. Make sure to choose the response, “What?” and not the repsonse “I’m busy”. If you choose I’m busy you will not go to the vineyard with her and you will lose your ability to ever receive her photo. The following day you will receive Karen’s photo in the mail.

Step 5 – The Goddess’s Visit

On Fall 6th the Goddess will come to you in a dream and tell you that the Kiefu Fairies have returned to the Vineyard and that delicious grapes will be able to be harvested once again from the Vineyard!! Yea!!! You did it!!!

Step 6 – The Sweet Wine   Wine

On the morning of Winter 7th, either Karen or Kai (whoever has the highest affection) will come by your farm to give the new and improved sweet wine harvested from the vineyard. This scene will give your player a +10 happiness boost if Karen shows up and +3 happiness boost if Kai shows up.

Things That Unlock Post Vineyard Restoration:   Gourmet Judge        Tarou and Hanako (Red Head Couple)

After you restore the Vineyard two things unlock. The Gourmet Judge becomes a villager and can now be found occasionally at the cross roads and a scene with Tarou and Hanako the red head lovers will no be viewable next Fall. And that’s it!

If you want a more detailed breakdown on the Vineyard’s restoration and all the Happiness and Affection boosts gained throughout it then make sure to check out my 336 page Harvest Moon 64 Player’s Guide that I wrote here: Harvest Moon 64 Player’s Guide

How To Get Rick’s Handmade Butter Recipe (Harvest Moon 64 Perfect Walkthrough)

How to get Rick’s Handmade Butter Recipe:      Small Milk

This is a pretty simple recipe to get, but let’s go over the requirements:

  1. You’ll need a full grown/milk producing cow
  2. You’ll need to have purchased the milker from Rick’s Tool Shop
  3. This must be the first gift/item you give to Rick during that day.
  4. You must have spoken to Rick at least once since starting your game.

Once you have those two things you’ll just need to milk your cow and hand off that milk to Rick (it can be a small, medium or large milk).  You can find Rick in his shop in Flowerbud Village from 10am-6pm on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, unless it’s a rainy day, in which case his shop is closed and he’s unavailable.

How To Get Cliff’s Spice Tea Recipe (Harvest Moon 64 Perfect Walkthrough)

Cliff’s Spice Tea Recipe Requirements:    Cliff  Egg  Small Milk

To get the Spice Tea recipe from Cliff you’ll need to do the following:

  1. Have a milk or an egg. I would suggest an egg as it’s less money lost to acquire the recipe.
  2. It will need to be winter! Cliff will only give you this recipe in winter.
  3. Cliff needs to of course still be a villager in your town!! Make sure to get the recipe before he (potentially) leaves!
  4. This must be the first item you give to Cliff on that day.
  5. You must have spoken to Cliff at least once since you have started the game

After spring 18th, when Cliff arrives for the first time in Flowerbud village, you should be able to find him on moon mountain between the hours of 9am-5pm most days. He’s typically around the carpenters house or fisherman’s tent.
